Comic-style interaction hints like “[E] Open shop”, with real key caps. Standalone, with copy-paste setup guides for ESX and QBCore.
Description:
Replace the plain GTA help text with a clean comic-style interaction hint. Key presses are shown as real key caps, and GTA control codes show the key the player actually has bound.
Features
- Smart key caps:
[E] Open shopshows anEkey cap,~INPUT_PICKUP~shows the player's real binding, and several keys in one hint are supported
- Two-line hints: start a second line with
~n~or\n
- Unlimited types: add your own in the config, each with its own color and icon. Ready to use: info, shop, vehicle, warning and success
- 8 screen positions: choose where the hint appears on screen
- Light on performance: repeated calls with the same text send nothing to the UI, and per-frame hints hide by themselves when your script stops calling them
- Hides automatically: while the pause menu or map is open
- Client exports:
Show(optionally with a duration),ShowThisFramefor per-frame loops,HideandIsShowing
- No conflicts between scripts: a script can only hide its own hint, so two scripts can't hide each other's hints
- Server exports:
ShowClientandHideClient, for one player, a list of players or everyone
- Secure events: server-only events that clients cannot trigger
- ESX guide: ready-made code for
ESX.ShowHelpNotification(and optionallyESX.TextUI), so every ESX script uses the new hint. The original GTA help text stays as a fallback
- QBCore guide: ready-made code for qb-core's
DrawText, so every script using it shows the comic hint
- Test command:
/helpnotifytestshows every type; only admins can use it by default
Compatibility
- Frameworks: ESX, QBCore, Standalone
Requirements
- None. Standalone. The optional ESX or QBCore setup needs a small code paste into es_extended or qb-core, explained in the README.
